History of Mogarkasa
A long time ago, an Adivasi family lived in this forest: four brothers and one sister named Mograkasa, Feshbaraja, Bhajimokasa, Jhadbaraja, and their sister Pandharipen (Bhuridevi). They did digging work to support their family. Since clothes were not available, they wrapped leaves around their bodies.
The brothers instructed their sister not to visit their workplace without playing a tapri or dabdi (tin sheet) from a distance. One day, Pandharipen brought lunch without playing the tin sheet. The brothers fled in embarrassment: Feshbaraja hid in Bhandarbodi forest, Bhajimokasa went to Ghogra hills, Zadbaraja fled to Seoni forest, and Mogarkasa stayed here. Hence, the forest is named after Mogarkasa.
